Our parish is involved with various educational programs for a range of age groups.

1 Algester Ladies Fellowship

Focusing on the needs of working women in our community.

Algester Ladies Fellowship provides ladies with an opportunity to gather and enjoy a relaxed social program incorporating education, crafts, videos, and guest speakers.

The group is Christian based, but not a formal bible study and is ideal for Christian women who wish to meet others and share issues important to themselves.

The program is varied from month to month, combining new learning opportunities and issue sharing over a cup of coffee and supper.

2 Craft Morning

Craft morning held every 4th Wednesday of the month in the church 9:30AM - 11.30 Am.

 

Activites include card making, scrapbooking, embossing, quilling  to name just a few.

 

So come along for a relaxed morning of fun, fellowship and craft.

3 Cursillo

Focusing on refreshing members for the journey ahead.

The Cursillo experience begins with a weekend "short course".

After attending the Cursillo Weekend, Cursillistas are encouraged to join a home group for a time of rejuvenation and support.

Taking time out to talk and share issues important to themselves, provides an excellent opportunity to encourage each other, work through issues members may be having and minister to each other.

This group meets for worship, breakfast and discussion to refresh members for the tasks involved with being active members of the ministry teams within our parish and their communities.

4 Home Groups

Providing access to the study of God's word within a caring home environment.

Home Groups are available in the Parish in the areas of ...

Algester - Monday evenings [KYB 7.30-9.00pm]
Algester - Friday mornings [KYB 10.00-11.30am]
Forestdale - Wednesday evenings [7.30-9.00pm]
Lakewood - Tuesday evenings [Young Adults 7.30-9.00pm]

Each group select and study the Bible using guides with issues relevant to the groups needs and preferences. Please contact the Coordinator for more details or email the Parish Office.

5 Men's Breakfest

This is a combined activity with different chruches within the area.�

A guest speaker is organised and shares there knowledge and experiences on the topic chosen for the breakfast discussion.

6 MU (formerly Mothers' Union)

Focusing on strengthening and preserving marriage and Christian Life.

MU (Algester Branch) is part of an international organisation that encourages and supports men and women in marriage and Christian life.

Meetings provide an opportunity for socialising, sharing issues and learning more about Christ and the Christian life. Members share a Eucharist and a chance for fellowship each month in a supportive environment.

In the Church complex, cr�che facilities are available at the services every Sunday morning.� Young children (school age and under) are provided with toys and activities to enable parents to concentrate on worship.

2 Mainly Music

10.00 - 11.30� Fridays.�

In the Church Hall.

Quality Time for Mums, or carers, with pre-schoolers.

Everyone is welcome to join us for � hour of music, singing, finger plays etc with the pre-schoolers.

Following this we have morning tea for the children and free play, while the Mums enjoy some morning tea and a chat with other mums.

�It is a great way to encourage the children in movement, verbal skills, mathematical skills, and music appreciation in a fun environment.

3 School Chaplaincy in local Schools

An education program for children at State Schools.� Members of the Parish support local School Chaplains in their work among the school communities in our area,� including Runcorn Hight, Calamvale College, Sunnybank High and Algester Primary.

The chaplains are employed by Scripture Union (Queensland) to undertake the work of School Chaplains under the support of local churches including the Algester Anglican Church.

4 Sunday School

Sunday School

An education program for children.� Open to all children, this program is held in the hall during the 9am Sunday service.� Children are taught about God's love and the work of Jesus Christ in a format designed for them.� Programs incorporate craft activities, singing, Bible stories, and the simple message of God's love.� Lessons commence at 9am with the children joining the service in the Church at the later part of the service.� Material used in Sunday School is based upon the Bible readings for the day.

5 Yahweh Youth

Yahweh Youth (catering for Year 7 and upwards)�

This group meeting during the 9am church service and involves bible based activities suitable for teens.
